This how things stood at the end of the yesterday. The first of the faces appeared:

DeafNala, that last mushroom is PERFECT! I'm really impressed with the texturing you've achieved, CONGRATULATIONS!  

BTW: last week in our RPG a small group of travelers crossing the Enchanted Forest was attacked by a pack of wild mushrooms. And EATEN. All of them. Poor travelers!  

Now Sheriff Nottingham is gathering a posse of mushroom hunters to enforce the old "No travelers will be eaten in this friggin' forest" law!  

And one of the hunters is of course old and bold Colonel Mustard with his faithful dog "Bongo" and his even more faithful hunting rifle "Old Smokey" (but this is another story...)

SO after some down time I have done a little work on the Mushroom background board:
The faces were gently removed for later use elsewhere. A Mushroom & some additional floating eyes were added:




...the free standing background Mushrooms are now primed/base coated:


AND the Fey Faerie Wizard has finally been given a base & base coated:






...he may soon see some color...or not.

...that is a BEAUTY. All my years on Long Island, I lived close to one beach or another. As a boy it was the Barrier Beaches of the South Shore: white sand & the Atlantic on one side & the Great South Bay on the other. As a man, I lived a couple blocks away from the North Shore beach in Sound Beach...a rocky beach on the Long Island Sound. I miss the smell of salt in the morning air.

That's why I came back to live in a beachfront place (in Jurere beach) after several years of globetrotting! 

The Campeche beach got its name from aviator and author Saint Exupery in the 30s, the name meaning "fishermen's camp" in French.

That does sound like a wonderfully romantic setting.  I looked up the beach & Antoine de Saint-Exupery. He was quite the thirties dashing hero...wrote The Little Prince as well.
I have a feeling that I won't be seeing my beaches again.
