Hah. I was debating whether I correct you or not. I figured his full name was missing the noun (i.e. "the old ____").

I imagined (before I saw the correction), this was his name after I did a web search:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_alte_Karussell

Nicely painted.

I do appreciate linguistic correction. I am limited to English & some Latin...everything else is Greek to me.
Thanks for the reply, von Lucky. I am glad you like him.

This is the start of the second photo stage, The Spooky Woods. It was supposed to be #03, but I'm still thinking about The Blight Street Board, which is now #03.
That aside, I have the background tree forms made & glued in place awaiting some clay work:

...with the foreground trees in place:

...more later...but not necessarily today.

Thanks for the kind reply, weismonsters. I am happy you like it & picked up the spooky vibes.
I did the roots & some groundwork today. Tomorrow its clay day...wonderful, messy clay.

Yesterday was an unfocused affair. This is how things looked at the end of the day:

...on the Spooky Woods Board, I got the tree roots for the background trees & some groundwork done:

...a few Mushrooms were made. These will be featured on a base for a Wyrd mini, Ano No Zako:

...this is Herself. I believe Amo No Zako translates as SCARY Old Crazy Lady:

...AND the excess green stuff = more Faces:

...that's how the day went. Being unfocused can be productive as well as fun.
Some regular-tough-large mushroom were also made; you can see them to the left in the top photos.

So by the end of the evening I had the Crazy Lady based up. I may have gotten ever-so-slightly carried away with the base:

Today I added to the ever-so-slightly some somewhat-normal-although-large mushrooms:

...here's a once around the Old Girl:

...insanity cab be such fun.

Here he is:

...seen here wit Th Old Knight:

I also took some photos of The Crew on the Mushroom Forest Photo Board with the intention of posting them is a Show Off section of another Forum, but you get to see them first:

...there you have them...so there.

DeafNala, I like very much the "old school" look of these guys, and your painting - specially the choice of colours and the gorgeous free hand shield - really brings their character to life, CONGRATULATIONS!!!  :-*

Thanks for the kind reply, hobgoblin. I am glad you like the Gang; AND that was the effect I was hoping for.

Thank you for your kind reply, dino. While I painting them was a joy, it is nice having the Gals & Guys finished.
I think my fondness for bright/flashy colors is part of Old Age..one of the fun parts.

Old age and fun like bright red Chaos warriors!  lol

I remember that in the late 80s I used to paint my Warhammer Chaos Knights as "historical" medieval knights with black armour, and one former GW games designer praised my painting skills, but commented on the lack of bright colour: "Where's the fun in that?"  :D

The Knights like the rest of the "Nobles" had a boring sense of colors...if any. The Foot Soldiers had an eye for color & style.
AND we are in it for the FUN!

Good time to get caught up in here!

The photo boards look fantastic already and are coming along really well and the LAF crew seem right up your alley. Plus you've done a great job with them!

Thanks for the kind reply, Fram. I am happy you enjoyed the latest additions to the project.
The Bruegelburg Folk were a joy to paint...I love Renaissance style stuff.

While I am at it, I made some progress on the Scary Lady. The Big Flighty Girl is seen here in base coat:

...AND a volunteer for a size comparison:

...The Mushrooms demanded equal time:

...I have started painting the base in hopes of maintaining some momentum.
