Looking great! The mushrooms are a nice touch.

Thanks, killshot. I am happy you like it. Did you see the new Creepy Tree base on the preceding page?
I flipped to this page with the shelf mushroom post. I hate it when I do that.

SO I now have the trees on Base #2 all spray coated & with a hot glue treatment to the branches done:

I had a few inquiries as to what materials I used. It's hard/impossible to make out in the photo, but the floral wire (green in this case) is 22 guage/caliber). Here is the stuff:

I also started on a Troll who wanted his photo taken:

AND thus the day begins.

That troll really rocks.
Everything in this thread does of course. But I love trolls and what you have done with him.

Thank you so much for teaching us so many useful tips for tree-making!  :-*

The troll is coming out terrific! Cheers!

Thanks, Doc. I am glad you like the stuff AND the Troll thus far. He's Reaper's 03269 Moor Troll...I think of him as Dudley the Moor Troll.
I have a real fondness for Trolls myself. One of the bases may be graced by a female Troll from Stonehaven.

Thank you for the kind reply, Dinos! If you have any questions on how something is done, I would be happy to answer them.
I am happy you like the Troll. I have high hopes for the Lad.

Everything is now base coated including a Stonehaven Female Troll Mage who may be gracing the second base.
Who is on first is anyone's guess as well as a classic Abbott & Costello routine:

More later...possibly.

Thanks for the reply, Dinos. The Tree does look like he's interested or curious about the Troll Babe.
According too Brian Froud, Troll have some connection to trees.

The trees and trolls are both marvellous! Excellent work.

Thanks, Hobgoblin. I am happy you like the stuff. I think the Trolls have potential.

Not much progress, but I did get some paint on the trees. The one on the left has the bark pretty much done:

I figured I would need a couple of Mushrooms for the bases; the type with faces. Unfortunately all the ones I made recently are on their own bases.
SO some new ones in the works:

I did mention I was easily distracted.

The long and winding road eventually gets somewhere. It's the journey, not the destination.

I agree. It's the making/painting/dream work that provide the real enjoyment. Once completed the pieces tend to go into storage.
I'm not sure on the green stuff. I would imagine somewhere between a half & three quarters of a tube gets used up each month.
Thanks for the continued support, von Lucky...it is appreciated.

That troll mage should turn out well!

I got some work done on the Creepy Tree Bases today. The bark is done. The first Tree has his shelf mushrooms painted. AND I added & painted some moss:

Trees can take sometime to do...most everything does.
