And a wonderful MERRY CHRISTMAS to you (and your brood) too!  :D

I have more or less decided to make P.P's King of Nothing the mini for Tree Base #2:

LAND last night I tiled the third of four roofs:

More later...or not!

AND the fourth of four roof sections is tiled:

That was a drag.

eager to see him painted, especially his crown! Cheers!

The usual wonderfully entertaining offerings are on show, as one has come to expect from this project.
 :-* :-*

I love what you did to the tree with the attached leaves.
I did consider something similar but thought they may be too fragile.
As you do not use yours for gaming, and the attendant clumsy sods that entails, you should be just fine.
 :D ;)

Like hitting yourself over the head with a hammer. It's not so hot while you are doing it, but it's wonderful when you stop.

The King has possibilities. I picked up a few of the Grymkin minis when they first hit the market.
He will be the first of them to see a brush. SO I'm looking forward to seeing him done as well.

Thanks for the reply, Dinos. Your description sounds like Tennyson's Ulysses:

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still heart, among these barren crags,
Matched with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws to a savage race,
That hoard, and sleep, and know me not.

I think he will add another touch of whimsy to the project.

Thanks for the kind response, Paul. I am happy you like the new stuff, especially the foliage.
The Silflor foliage works well, however, any handling tends to cause the leaves to shed.
A spray finish helps a bit, but I don't see them holding up in a gaming situation.

Here is where The King of Nothing stood as I started the day:

By noon the King was ready to assume his throne...base:

AND now His Majesty, The King of Nothing with His Royal Court (the Mushrooms like the idea of being a Royal Court...whatever that is):

There is a wonderful feeling of release in finishing a piece.

And so there should be; it must be very cathartic all this.

Great colour choices by the way.

Well! I think it's one of your best creations!
The branch he's standing how well blends with the rest of the tree!
And some kind of mystical harmony enfolds the whole picture, sending vibes to the viewer!
Look at the King of Nothing!
He seems alone, but he is not!
He looks hopeless, but hope is all around!

My warmest congratulations!
What a great way to finish the Year!

For a change instead of staring into space, I started painting more background mushrooms, did a little work on the Tower Stage, & checked out a couple of minis in the vault.
The release is still there without the usual stupor.
Thanks for reply, von Lucky! I am happy you liked the colors.

He did seem to be a perfect fit for the base. I am delighted you agree, Dinos. He does have a story to tell.
I thought is was a good way to wrap up the year also. One never know whether something else will spring to completion, but this does seem like the last for this year.

Nicework, Amigo.

The 'throne' blends in seamlessly with the trees and the tones on those 'Shrooms are wonderful.
