Thanks MUCHO, Amigo!

I want some of what you've been taking DeafNala!  o_o

Funny you should mention it, but when working on the Mushrooms & Night Goblins, somewhere in the back of my head Gracie Slick was wailing out White Rabbit.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

I thought it was about time that I left some feedback for your Uber Goblins etc on here.
Having been an avid follower of many of your projects on TBMF, I guess it kinda slipped my mind to comment. Mentally I had already commented many times on how great it all is!

I love your furtile imagination :o :o and your sense of humour. lol lol lol
You are a nutter, Deafnala!
(Those LOVELY trees prove it!)
In the nicest possible way, of course. ;)

Dont know if you have already posted it on here, but saw it on Tom's, I think the guys here should see that underground cavern set-up with mushrooms that you had been working on last time I checked.
Sure they would love it.

Keep 'em coming, Mr D.
Your work is not finished.
Not by a long chalk.

Thanks MUCHO for the kind words, Guys.
There was a Girl I knew whose father told her I was an eccentric, but nuts comes closer to the mark.
@Mason: I haven't inflicted the Maudeheim/Cavern Board on this forum,,,yet. I was in a quandary as to where to post it. I suppose here is as good as any place else; it would keep almost everything in one spot with only Lulu & some Orks lurking about on their own.

I'll post a couple more photo in a bit...consider yourselves warned.

Love the wood. Now, get a proper table done for those beauties!  >:D  ;)

(I suspect the 'foam' beneath them are going to be transformed into sometning more befitting..??)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks again for all the kind & encouraging words, Guys. Each piece I finish stimulates further ideas. Thingys like Homegrown Squig-like Beasties & The Magic Circle of Petrified Trees, aka Stoned Hedge, are looming on the horizon...well actually, over in the corner of The Room.

Love the wood. Now, get a proper table done for those beauties!  >:D  ;)

(I suspect the 'foam' beneath them are going to be transformed into something more befitting..??)

The basic table is complete & awaiting the Thingies from HELL!...mostly. It's a hexagon shaped monster some 6' across that's set up for Geo-Hex tiles The surface is done with a water effect so that uncovered sections will look like streams ponds & such. I've got plans for custom tiles, islands & such.

This is The Beast in an early W.I.P. stage:

AND with the water effect done:

I'll post some W.I.P. photos of The Goblin City soon.

Thanks, Mason!
I wish I could be more precise, but the water effect was a combination of serendipitous accidents, Divine Intervention, & a generous dollop of bloody-minded tenacity on my part. The first step was Captain John pouring the crack filler (that jug on the table) over the painted blue table top; this worked out okay...the filler dried a dark transparent blue with a slight ripple effect.
He then found he couldn't get anymore without making a very expensive special order; SO we opted for polyurethane for the next couple of layers. This would have worked out if applied properly...thus destroying the story, but preserving the table & some of my sanity. However, ignoring both instructions & [my] reservations, he poured a thick layer of the polyurethane, which dried in a crazy quilt design of irregular lumps & intervening depressions with sections of translucent chunks....he attempted a fix on this by pouring a second thick layer.
At this stage, partially to avoid violence, I was allowed to try my hand at the remedy. I painted the Beasty with a transparent blue glaze & sponged on a half dozen coats of the poly. By itself my method would not have made quite as dramatic an effect as the joint effort.
As a side note: it actually does look better in real life...it has a sparkling reflective quality to it that the photo does not capture.

That forest's simply one of the most characterful set of scenery I've ever seen.  The skill and imagination of LAFers never ceases to astound me.  Looks like it'd be a real blast to push minis through.

Wow actually looks great! I love the idea of the water table that you can add on top of.  8)
What do you make your trees from?

Thanks for the very kind words. It's a pleasant surprise getting such a good reaction to my Little Horrors...I'm almost humbled by the experience.

@Andrew: I'm rather poor at explaining the "how-tos" of the things I make; HOWEVER, I'll give it a try. If/when I say something you don't quite get, just mention it & I'll give it a better try.
For the Mushrooms, I have a mini tutorial here:
http://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/t4674p100-maudeheim-environs-updated-8-2211
It's in two parts as my "just sculpt the face" seemed rather vague to one of the Guys reading it; so a further explanation was necessary.
The Living Trees; i.e.the ones with foliage, are mostly made from Raffia covered florist wire twisted into a spiral with the heavier branches twisted out from the main trunk.
The smaller branches are regular unwrapped florists wire (22gauge) thats wrapped around the thicker branches & twisted together & into shapes.
The trunk & main branches are covered in plumber's epoxy (similar to Milliput) & the bark is sculpted.
The smaller branches are covered in hot glue that's teased form a rough irregular surface.
The Spooky Trees are made from Pecan & Live Oak branches, twigs, & bark. Branches are made as the smaller branches above, & glued into pre-drilled holes prior to painting.

This one is Live Oak Bark:

This one is Pecan:

I do submerged roots from tease hot glue radiating out from the trunks to add interest to the bases & stability to the trees:

I hope that makes some sense to you.

These are great! I'm partial to Pecan, probably because I love pecan pie. Though I don't think I would eat anything that fell off him.  :)
