What a wonderful place, that Heep's!  :-*

How do you get such vibrant colours out of the black undercoat, second undercoat of some off-white etc?

Do show us more soon!

Thanks for the kind reply, popoloco!

I do a thin black undercoat & then a white dry brush over the black. I do this on both my minis & terrain. I find this both increases the depth of color in recessed areas & aids in giving a brightness to the highlights. A major plus for moi, is that prepping like this makes it easier for my Old Eyes to pick out the details.

Many thanks for the tip good Sir, will have to brave and try it sometime. I saw in another thread that second board is forming up rather nicely?

Good for you! Trying something new is one of those things that set-in-our-ways painters find extremely difficult & resist with bloody minded tenacity. I salute you!

I saw in another thread that second board is forming up rather nicely?

I did post a couple of W.I.P. shots in Jevenkah's War Games Table Top thread:

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?board=18.0

It was a "show me your hills & I'll show you mine" challenge. I've made some small progress since those photos. SO, since you asked & as a reward for thinking of braving a new painting method, here are some updated photos:

There you go!
Your kind comments & critiques would be appreciated as always.

Boards look great together, how many there will be in total?

And those trees are wonderful, are all of them scratch built?

Thank you for the kind comments, Gentlemen!

The trees that are in full leaf are scratch built; those sans foliage & sporting faces are live oak & pecan bark with scratch built branches et al...God takes most of the credit for the craftsmanship.

Oh wow, stunning work! 8) I love the detail on the cobblestone road, it must have been an awful lot of work making it...

I'm delighted you like it & took the time to say so.
I figure that the road took about an hour: 45 mins. to draw the stones & 15 mins. for my hand to uncramp.

Thanks, the Avatar is a dunger sculpted by Curtis from Ramshackle Games.

I did so those picks on her thread and you've already made this much progress.  Where to even begin with all this eye candy. The faces on the trees, the cobblestones are all spectacular  :-* :-*

Would you mind giving us a good pic of what you've got built on that ledge? That looks most intriguing  :D :D
