Oh, I've missed some of the updates! Really nice work on George. Is he scratch-built? The board looks fantastic too,  it makes me say "Wow" out loud, even more so because I know I would never be able to do something like that. Only one suggestion though, perhaps you could gloss varnish the water? It would make it look more watery, I think.

Thanks, aggro! Adding little touches to my creations is the most enjoyable part of the Beasty for moi. Seeing the little details in other Folks' is something I find delightful & inspiring.

Thanks, C.A.! Old Loathsome George is a home grown Beasty...he may be getting some company.
Once I get the clumps of reeds glued down all the exposed "water" areas will get some water effect for ripples & several layers of gloss finish. I think that will not only add to the water feel, but to the general disgustingly gross aspect of the swamp.

This already looks great. Once you get the gloss or water effect on there, it's going to be a smash. One of your very best boards yet!

Thanks, Fram! I'm hoping the gloss will look the part.

As threatened, I took a LOT of photos of what progress I made with The Swamp. There are some new scaffolds connecting various Places of Dubious Interest along with some reed beds for Loathsome George to lurk in & the first layer of water effects. SO here are The Photos of ASTOUNDING Mediocrity:

The prerequisite Overview:

Swooping in & around George:

The Grand Scaffold connecting the Three or Four Sisters with Frag's Sacred Rock Bar & Grill:

Some additions by Oozy Suzy's:

AND just buzzing around:

There you are. If any of you are still here, your comments & critiques would be appreciated...for the most part.

Looks like everything's going wonderfully so far! Will the later layers of water effect add a more glossy finish to the water? That seems to be the biggest thing missing at the moment.

Loving it DeafNala! I like the rich textures everywhere. They are varied across the terrain. Everything looks natural and chaotic.

Perhaps George could have a partially submerged lady friend. Grabbing and unsuspecting mushroom? Or perhaps holding a fresh picked skeleton arm. ;)

Thanks for all the positive feedback, Guys!

It actually is fairly shiny in reality. However, I intend to keep adding layers of gloss finish until it starts reflecting the surrounding terrain...or the whole thing is embedded in polyurethane...whichever comes first.

Thanks for the compliments AND the ideas...the Place could stand some water details.

Thanks, von Lucky! If my imagination & narrating skills are up to it, I hope to start solo gaming again.

As I was gloomly looking through some material for the first of three consequetive parent-teacher nights I accidently opened LAF and stumbled across the the newest additions to your thread. Looking at all the weird faces I somehow connected them to the parents of the kids I teach - and really cracked up. Those pics made my day, I'll make sure to be extra nice to those parents. What a wonderful world of weirdness you have once again presented to us. This is one of the best threads on this forum and that is saying a lot.  :)

Making a Friend's day a little bit brighter has, in turn, made my day...thanks again.
