Thanks, Argonor. The the two tall buildings are removable from the rock formations they are perched upon. The one on the right's base is in two parts. SO interior details will be added.

The tree is looking fab!

I like the idea of Smuggler's Cove and it's already a great start. I really think it needs some creepy faces sculpted into the rock formations or some shrooms or something, to tie in with the rest of the board :)

Thanks for the kind replies...the Tree & I appreciate it. I will be doing some added details on the Tree...it has a few eyes already scattered about the trunk.

The Faces are a definite...there are three on the far side of the Leaning Tavern with more to come. I intend to add a series of shanties/buildings both intact & ruined with a connecting maze of walkways at varying heights. It should connect to the Isles Board possibly via an intervening board.

That sounds rather complex, but very intriguing! Can't wait to see how that turns out :)

It's going to be time soon to see all the boards (so far) lined up, you know.  ;D

Also, that tree is wonderful! How did you make that one? I suspect you've spoken about that at some point in the past hundred pages, but I can't find the page.

Thanks for all the motivating comments...they are appreciated.

As to the Tree: this one & the Tree of Wohoo on the Shanty Town board are the lower portions of Yew bushes. They're extremely tough & have a splendid grain to them...I just painted them a dark greyish brown (2:1 American Bittersweet Chocolate & Black) with a couple drybrushes of the dark brown plus honey brown & lastly with some desert sand added to that mix. Sagebrush, aka tumbleweed, makes even cooler trees.

I'm Glad you are making the boards to fit through your door, that's a useful feature DeafNala. :)

It is a plus. I've moved around quite a few times in my life...leaving something behind because it wouldn't fit through the door would be cruel.

It's going to be time soon to see all the boards (so far) lined up, you know.  ;D

We have a table outside that may be just the perfect size for a Group Portrait. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the kind reply, Andrew! The Leaning Tavern was made when I was still living on Long Island...more than 4 years ago. It was a spin off on a commissioned Mordheim style game board. The board was a 4' X 4' affair that was filled with ruins of dizzying heights connected at various heights by rickety walkways; four of them were drinking establishments, with one in each corner. Each Tavern had a team of swashbucklers who would duel with one or more of the other Taverns...extra points were awarded for high altitude combats.

The Group Shots will get taken as soon as space & weather permit. Aside from making everyone happy, it will give me a better idea of how it all works together.

The way I normally go about things is to make a base for a mini, mount the mini on the base, AND then prime/paint. This formula went fine right through the mount mini stage. It was then I discovered the mini was too maxi to work on the base...I mounted the maxi mini on a lower, sturdier base.

HOWEVER, since I thought the base was cool, I continued to work on it while I mulled over a possible mini to mount. Well...I'm still mulling, but the base is done. SO I thought I'd show you where we stand thus far:

From the top:

getting closer:

& closer still:

For the curious in the group, this is the maxi mini. I planning to add a sign to the base like the one to the left...it's there for reference/inspiration:

For The Base, I'm thinking of either adding L.A.M's Shakespeare (a Bard with book & lance mounted on a Pig sporting a fez) & entourage, or a Freilancer with Squire a la Don Quixote. The possibility of having to make another similar base seems to becoming more imminent.

As usual your comments would be most welcome...for the most part.
