Wow, Froggimodo turned out quite menacing, in a fairy-tale-as-it-was-told-way-back-when sort of way.

Lovely!
Jevenkah

The most noticeable thing about Froggimodo before the paint job was his smile. It's only after that his true nature comes out...he reminds me of a muscular Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas. At any rate, I'm delighted you like him & took the time to say so...thanks for the motivation.

The froggy-freak turned out a lot creepier than I thought.  Unpainted he looked almost jovial.  Painted up he looks like he might run around town setting places and people on fire, just for the fun of it.  Well done.

Thank, hjorhrafn...glad you like him. I agree: he got much creepier & more menacing with the colors applied. The unpainted Froggy's most noticeable feature was that silly smile. Painted up with unhealthy, pale skin tones & a black cowl, he has the same creepy quality as a circus clown, the kind that leaves children with life long phobias...he reminds me of Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Of course, this was pretty much by accident, but I've been having a lot of fortuitous accidents of late.

Wow, what a result! He certainly did become a lot more sinister in the painting - which speaks to Nala's skill, I think!

Thanks, Paul. Whatever charm the Big Froggy possesses has absolutely nothing to do with good looks...he is a snappy dresser though.

Thanks, Fram. I'm delighted you like him...that's a welcome morale boost. AND I'm rather pleased that sinister has edged out whimsical as his description.

I love the Frog. I know what everyone is saying about the Froud influence in your work. What I think makes it all your own is the amazing painting. Color choices and fearless choices make your miniatures sing from my computer screen. Who did the sculpting on this beauty anyway?

And before I forget, the dwarf is quite stunning too. I see your camera was cooperative this evening.

Thanks for the kind reply, Michka! I think having the black surroundings helped the photos...I bribed The Camera with new batteries also. The other settings had to much going on for Her to find the focal point. I'm actually pleased with the photos myself.

I'm delighted you like my painting style. My miniature painting has taken up a secondary role to my terrain building over the last few years. I'm hoping to get them on an even status again.

The basic Froggy miniature was done by my friend, Ben Franck aka floedebolle; I merely added the trousers, jester's cowl, & shoes. Ben also did the Golden Tom Statuette among other things. This his the Froggy Guy he did for himself:

AND painted by our own, UBERTALENTED Simon Bradley:

...pretty cool, eh?!

The Sharpshooter has joined the Crew. AND without further ado HERE HE IS:

There you go. With only two more to finish not including the Halfling Morale Officer & his Marching Band, there is an excellent chance the Mercenary Dwaven Rogues will be done over the weekend. OH BABY!

You are a machine this week. The sniper looks a fine addition to the mercenary force. I do look forward to seeing these guys in some street level shots once the group is fully assembled.

And the original Foggy mini is a treat. That Simon Bradley paint job is stupendous. (You know, I'm running out of adjectives to properly describe the work I see on this forum.)

Thanks, Michka! I have been coming up to speed. I have quite a few REALLY cool things to paint & build that have been motivating me, along with all the encouragement The Forum Folk have supplied...I'm two feathers away from finishing the first of the Doppel Dwarf Soldats.

I can identify. There are times that I pass on commenting simply because I've run out of things to say or simply been left speechless. For moi, this is not a normal occurrence.

Thanks for the reply, luidinuovo...that started my day off nicely. I'm glad you are enjoying the journey.

Thanks, leonmallett...I admire your perseverance. That Old Cookout piece has been getting some nice & well appreciated comments after it's long unnoticed stay in Cap'n John's Imploding Display Case; I'm glad you like it & W.K's WONDERFUL Dwarfs.
