Ditto... In any case if you look closely some of them aren't wearing battledress tunics, but some other pullover type garment that has 3 buttons from the collar. I haven't a clue what it is meant to be but I vaguely recall something of the like being worn in the Western Desert Campaign.

Well spotted. Actually, on closer examination, none of them are wearing proper battledress tunics and the sleeves are wrong too. They all seem to have the rounded bottoms of the earlier pattern Highland service dress and tropical tunics. This was not a feature of any of the various battledress patterns. They seem to be wearing some weird hybrid.
