Looking for good methods for painting brown/black skin.

OK I am about to start painting up some Darkest Africa troopers and was wondering what paints/colors people are using to do black/brown skin.

Should the figure be primed black or white or does it really matter?

I was thinking of using GW's Dark Flesh, then a wash using a black wash and then doing highlights.

What are people's thoughts on the using Vallejo Game Color Charred Brown and highlighting with Game Color Dark Fleshtone.

Speaking of Washes what are people using to do washes.  I have used Future Wax + Paint + Water.  Are there other good ways to create a wash?

Hiya Tri3!

The reaper system is very decent and easy to use.  I needed to paint a Polynesian skin tone, and after mucking it up on several attempts, found the Reaper paints, and it made it relatively simple.

To make my washes, I use water and just a touch of Winsor & Newton Acrylic Flow Improver.  About at a 10 to one ratio.
