A history project for 2011
« on: June 27, 2011, 05:41:35 PM »
Seeing as how the new year has started I thought I'd try something different. Paint a complete set of an old range.....and have decided on Garrison Miniatures Star Troopers from the 70s.

Arhh, a bit of nostalgia here. I bought some of this range in 1978(?) at the Model Engineers Exhibition at Wembly conference centre.
I was deligthed to see a range of figures based on Star Wars at the time. (This was Heaven for a 12 year old at the time.)
Oddly enough I came across the very same figure a couple of weeks ago at my parents house. You have done a much better paiting job than the one on my figure. lol
Thanks for bringing back memories of a carefree happy days. :)

Anyway, a few more for your delectation

ST16 Space Pirate with Pulse Rifle - not sure if this is the correct mini as have never seen a picture. This is ST15 with the rifle, Rob at Garrison minis seems to agree they were the same mini, different weapons.....please let me know if otherwise.

and not my PJ but finally managed to get hold of this after many years searching and picking up parts from it....

ST20 Laser Cannon on Mobile Jet Mount with Crew

Great stuff! I always love to see people re-do old miniature lines! I like seeing how miniatures have developed over the years. Your painting is superb! Spot on!
