A small update... the first layers of paint have been aplied. The blue of the water looks strange on the picture, but actually looks better in reality. Aditional drybrushing will be done tomorrow on the stonework, along with some groundwork. We will wait with the resin for the water until later, when all painting and groundwork are done. Lots of scribling is to be done *cracks whip and gives co-conspirators a evil grin* :D

Oh I left that part of the building to my minions. I am more of a supervisor. I have been casting and building some, but most of it is actually done by LB and some by Evanion. I build houses, so does Kalle and Evanion. I also do most of the painting at the moment.

Galland  - what is the arched 'pipe' coming off the little drum shaped island. I have been puzzling about it but can come up with nothing.

Looking like this will be really something when completed if these early stages are indicative.

I am going to go ahead and guess, I think is a rock with a arch to the side like sea rocks sometimes have. The top of the island is black as there will be a Lighthouse added.

When we started this project, I was browsing these pages and all its fantastic stuff. Among the uber cool things I found, I saw a couple of really nice game markers, feeling the inspiration I made these, Kalle made one of them, but I painted it as well. I am not a great painter, but these where both fun to make and to paint... they are made from foam, old GW bits and some creative greenstuff work.

I love tokens of this kind. Usually too lazy to make them and go with printed counters, but they are such fun to do, and really enhance the table.

Hi Galland,

Nice encounter markers, really like the paint job on the shield.

Hehe, thanks, as I said before I am not really to be considered a painter at all, considering the talent on these boards.
The funny thing about the shield is that I got the inspiration from a picture of a find that was made in Latvia, where a German WWII helmet was found slightly burried, and under a bush. I have pictures of that... and I also own the helmet :)

Here is some work on a naval cannon made from stuff plus an old GW cannon. Kalle is the maritime fetishist...

Doing up the block & tackle for that SERIOUSLY LARGE cannon is a FINE touch. WELL DONE!

This house was scratchbuilt by Kalle and painted by moi (same goes for the other stuff really). The other house is a GW house that we built, then converted for skirmish gaming, repaint and adding some rudimentary interior. We have however decided not to use it for now, and instead try to stick with the current building style that Kalle have developed. This is his first scratchbuilt house :)
The statue is, of course, the famous Imperial Explorer Escudero Fiasco Da Gama!

That is one impressive scratch built building - the GW conversion isn't shabby either.

Your board is shapping up nicely.
