Two of my favourite entries here. Both charming, both witty and both well executed. Well done to both painters  :)

Two cracking entries :-* :-* :-*
I am afraid the second takes it for me as you can see the painting better.
Good luck to both of you.

I'm finding that I'm using that as the "tie-breaker" when deciding to vote on a lot of these.  Show us the minis!
Back from the dead, almost.

This was a very hard matchup to vote on. I love the whole diorama the first entry portrays and the second one is simply beautifully painted models on a beautiful surface with a beautiful background picture. I agree that the models are better visible in the second entry but the painting in the first entry looks equally solid and in the end the unfinished look of the bases in the second entry swung my vote the other way.

:o  You're right!  I totally missed the sloppy sides of the bases!  That's what I get for finishing the painting and photographing at 3:00 AM   lol

 lol

It doesn't seem to be affecting the votes much though, I must say I didn't notice it at first either, and of course it's very easily fixed 8)

Hard choice but 2nd wins because first's signs aren't in the hands of the ladies - weird but what made the difference for me.

this was the closest of calls. In the end I went for the family. I could simply see them better. The painting in both is top class, as is the setting.

By the way, who makes the black smith and family?

Reaper Miniatures.  I got them in the Citizens of Kullhaven pack, although I believe all the sculpts are available individually.

It was very close to me but it came down to cleavage vs no cleavage.  I do appreciate the irony of that given the subject matter.  :)
