Cold Wars pics of the .45 Adventure 2nd Ed. game
« on: March 13, 2011, 07:22:48 PM »
I am finally back home. Worn out but very happy with how Cold Wars went. We sold out of the book. I have to harass the printer tonight and try and get the remainder as quickly as possible. Even the copies I set aside for myself to give to some playtesters ended up getting sold by Lon at Brigade.

Here is my .45 Adventure 2nd Edition Day 1 table shot.

This is a mix of photos from three different games. So they won't tell the complete story of any one game.

A spooky shot from the entrance to Lakeview Cemetery.

The Gargoyle and some of the cops battle ghouls which popped out from tunnels beneath the graveyard. The Ghouls are very nasty in close combat and in the third game played, manage to keep the Cultist leader Knocked Out for most of the game. The red splotch represents a wound that the cop had taken. In the new edition, Grade 1s are either killed or wounded when hit in combat.

The Hybrid High Priest had the Summon Entity spell (he had to sacrifice one of his own minions to get the Willpower needed to cast it). He brought forth Habbidon in game 2. The Gargoyle is suddenly very cognizant of a heavy breathing on the back of his neck.

Emerson P. Balldridge is protected by the police as he makes a move toward the Encounter Marker.

The Gargoyle opens up on the Hybrid High Priest and a cultist as they attempt to solve on the of the Brains tests for the Encounter. These two hapless fellows failed Brains test for 4 turns. To the right, Emerson battles the demon Rattusalia (it appears as a swarm of rats). This was a minor entity but still extremely powerful.

Very good.
Congratulations.
So you are sold out already.
This means I have to wait even longer to get my copy in Germany.
Thank you Sir....

I am harassing the printer daily trying to give me an ETA. He's sent the bill for it so they should be just about done. BUT, he could just want money.  lol

As soon as I know they are shipping to me, they will go on the website and I'll post everywhere about them.

I pre-ordered.  Hardly ever do that and certainly never before for a genre/era I have never played before.

Trying to stay placid about how good the rules might be...

Gracias,

Glenn

Thanks for posting that Glenn, I just went straight onto the Blackmarket and put in my own order.

I'll have to wait a while for it to get over the sea too, but I'll try my best to restrain myself till I get it.

My pleasure.

Adding to the audacity of me pre-ordering an untried rules in a genre I have never played is the further insanity that I might try a new scale in between my current two main ones.

Must be a side effect of turning sixty.

Gracias,

Glenn

Occult rules, huh? This will reboot my attempts to get some Pulp gaming up and running (apart from Strange Aeons). I really just have to make some stairs for a subterranean temple, and then drum some players together... And of course get the new edition, as soon as I can spare the cash. Hmmm. Worst task is actually to get those 4-5 players together that I planned the game for... Well, should be possible.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Well, books are back in stock. My second batch arrived this week. Of course, I have less than a dozen left already, so it might require ANOTHER printing before next week.

That's great news, not only for my own order but just generally to hear they are selling well.
