JTFM Enterprises does VSF.
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:37:35 PM »
This is our first foray into 15mm VSF, and a bit different from our usual 1/56 WWII vehicles.  :)

In conjunction with The ArmChair General VSF ruleset: "When The Navy Walked" we've started the first master for their Capital Unit vehicles, the German Zyklops.
The master still needs all the excess green stuff removed as well as more detailing to the firing platforms, hinges and handles on the hatches and access panels, I don't want to even think about the number of rivets I have to put on :o  But rivets are good  :D

More vehicles are to follow.  :)

Cheers,

Jeff @ JTFM

Info on the ruleset can be found here. They're working on a set of 28mm skirmish rules as well.

Looks good, too bad it isn't 28mm, but that would probably become too huge and expensive anyway :)

Oh, one thing I only now noticed, perhaps it would look better with split tracks? I always wonder how these things turn with mono tracks on them.

It actually scales up pretty well with a 28mm figure. I'll have to take a pic with one in it for scale.  :)

This is an option we've been comtemplating  :)

It loks promising for 28mm.  I hope the picture shows this, as it would be a beauty (and I don't do 15's).  ;)
This is my boomstick!

I am quite impressed with Jeff's work myself. He has brought Jim's concept design to life. This is EXACTLY what I had in mind when I wrote the WTNW world and rules.

I tried my best to stay true to the concept art. :)

Here are 2 pics of the Zyklops with both a 15mm and 28mm figure. Still pretty big next to the 28mm

Cheers,

Jeff

Still, the size is not bad for 28mm figures.

Certainly can't see it taking much work to make it perfectly usable in 28mm.

Put a railing or some sandbags around the top "fire step" and similar on the side platforms...put some kneeling 28mm figures in there and it'll look perfect I'd say.

If course for 15mm it is simply brilliant.

Very nice.

I'd probably replace the side guns with Gatlings. The guns there look a little small.

I'd say it'd almost work better for 28mm, as an appropriately smaller land ship. On the other hand, I'm really warming to the idea of my GI Joe I.M.P.'s as 15m behemoths.

Isn't it sad when so many pervert your fully realized vision?  lol

There are plenty of possibilities for both scales IMHO. I should have eveything complete over the weekend and will post pics then for everyone to pass judgement on.  :)

Cheers,

Jeff

All the lumpy green stuff is now cleaned up nicely and blended in. :) The right side face has all the rivets done, and she does look a whole hec of alot better with rivets!  :)

I'll post more pics tommorrow after I knock off for the day.

Cheers,

Jeff

Here are the pics from my weekend work. The rivets are taking a bit longer than I anticipated  >:(, but I figure another 2 days will see her completed.  :)

Let me know what you think of the rivet count do I need more as the other side will be identical and the front is only partially completed.

Cheers,

Jeff
