Fallout New Vegas at Cold Wars 2011
« on: March 14, 2011, 11:48:23 PM »
Similar to the Fallout game from Fall In a year or two ago, this one portrays the familiar landscape of New Vegas.  Awesome job, great terrain and a fun looking game.

Beautiful! Where are the non-marx car vehicles from? I am drooling at the thought of this table. Where did you do this?

Is that gas station scratchbuilt?  If it's a kit I'd like to know the maker.  The table is just gorgeous. Nice touch adding the casino dice in "New Vegas" games.
This is my boomstick!

I've seen better.  :)  To answer some questions, the non-Marx cars are just 1/43 1950's cars I got from Diecast Direct.  The gas station and most of the terrain on the table was scratch-built by me.   The gas station took quite a bit of time I assure you.  I would like to point all that while I built almost everything, the fine folks at Sabol Studios did most of the painting on the buildings and cars, they also built the one wrecked model between the utility poles.  I added the posters and little touches after getting them back.  So it was a great collaboration really.  One downside was the I converted some lovely Legionnaires that were not received by me in time due to a big fail on the part of Office Depot/UPS.  They would have really added to the whole thing and were wonderfully painted by Adam over at Fineline Studios.  I also did use real casino dice and gave out used card decks as prizes.  I acquired both after visiting many casinos on the Vegas Strip.   After they are used the casinos will mark them and then sell them for a nominal price.  I like authenticity.  Thanks for the kind words.

Joey

P.S.  I forgot to mention the rules used were Ganesha Games Mutants and Death Ray Guns, which work great.

Also, Sterling Moose, thanks for the great pictures.  Did you introduce yourself to me?  I met one other Lead Adventurer there, but I don't think it was you.

no, not at such, but we did have a conversation along the lines that Fallout 3 was better visually than Fallout New Vegas, and larger in scope.  I love the ruined cityscape of Fallout 3, as opposed to the open wasteland of Nevada (which it is anyway).

I know it's a little silly but I love the fact that you guys were using casino dice to play. Seems fitting for a New Vegas game. Also, I'm neon green with envy >:(...

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden
