This ain't your granpappy's flying saucer!
« on: March 21, 2011, 08:47:36 PM »

Made this "flying saucer" out of two microwave safe plates some cardboard and some bits from a couple "Star Wars" model kits.  I was going for a combination retro style flying saucer and the modern concept of what a space ship should look like.

Looks great and gives me some ideas for which kits I need to keep my eye out for. The STAP kits were a dime a dozen around here for a while but now seem to have vanished. Good work!

I'm having the same problem.  I've been looking for those ID4 attack ship that were a dime a dozen just a while back to use as Goa'uld ship but those seem to have dried up as well.

What a great idea and very well executed. A bizarre mix of 50's pulp SF and more "futuristic" stuff. Works 100% better than it should  lol

Those microwave plates might form the basis of some nice anti-grav heavy weapons platforms etc.

Here's to seeing more flying plates on this site!
