Check it out.

Looks like even more new stuff is in the works. Did I just see mention of a new miniatures license?

You most certainly did my friend!

I just had some fun last week at the Cold Wars game convention in Lancaster, PA, running Mars Needs Steam!, a miniatures battle game set on Mars in the Space: 1889 universe, complete with land dreadnoughts, Fenian rebels, angry Canal Martians, and a very dangerous steam-powered electric cannon. Those rules will probably be published by Test of Battle Games, but we don't have a tentative release date yet. Within a month or so I should have a miniatures license to announce as well, so stay tuned for more news.

I believe our own Sterling Moose played in that game. Exciting news!

One of the best piece of news this year so far!

I suppose, however, that the minis' scale (if they are 28mm) will make them incompatible with RAFM's truish-25mm ones...

It would be lovely if they did some sort of high-tech magic and enlarged those old castings to match tody's 28mm stuff. Probably more practical to sculpt completely new stuff though.

I just hope the new line doesn't force RAFM's original line off the market.  They're great figs, and still the backbone of my colonial armies!

As I am looking at expanding play into the realm of 15mm, they remain giants to me. ;->=

They were at Hot Lead on the weekend, and Space 1889 remains very much on the backburner.... I got a few pieces, but I had to preorder them.

To cater for the current market they'll have to make their figures bigger otherwise they will lose a lot of potential customers.  I'm sure we were told that the Cyclops was designed for 28mm............and were then disapointed by it's diminuative size.
