French Marines 1871 28mm
« on: March 29, 2011, 10:54:42 AM »
Just opened up regiment paintings on the website if anybody is interested

The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

These are quite nice! Interesting sculpts and a fine paint job.

Yes very good! Sadly I can't afford painted figures, but I'm sure there are plenty who can.

Nice figures - I hadn't seen them before. They'd also make very good VSF minions for the likes of Capt Nemo or the usual bunch of mad scientists etc.

Renegade Miniatures Great War-era Fusiliers Marins, if I'm not mistaken. I've got some somewhere. Unpainted, of course.  :)

Always impressed with Renegade miniatures,i think his price range £13 a regiment of 24 figs is spot on,plus buy 4 regiments get a 5th free helps build up a army fast,his naps range looks really good and his new W.O.R. even better.

You might find this hard to take in but i painted all my stuff with a sewing needle,got so fed up buying brushes i just picked up a sewing needle and felt ok with it,i use it for shades buttons and strapes ect...block painting first with a brush...am trying like the Japanese to get a picture on a grain of rice but not at that stage as yet....lol

My friend paints that way. I always thought him somewhat, er... eccentric for doing so; but now there are two of you it is obviously a cult. Get a few more recruits and it will be a movement!  lol

No no, I'm sure you're not - honest!  ::)

 ;)

That's fascinating and something I've never heard of in the context of wargames miniatures painting. Is it any quicker/easier, or just cheaper? It's certainly something to think about for fine details - I aleways struggle with buttons, thin straps, musket detail etc. Bloody brushes always seem to spring a loose hair just when I'm trying to do the fine work on a character figure  >:(

 lol
