I generally take a bad review as an indication that I should go and see something... I've seen some raving reviews of films I didn't like at all. I'm off to see it next week!

Don't ever trust any payed reviewer to ever give an honest, unbiased look into anything. ;)

True! I read the same music and film reviewers regularly, and often find that if they don't like stuff it usually means I do  lol

Saw it on Wednesday. Cheesy, but great fun - although I must admit I was a little disappointed by the invaders themselves.

Saw it last Thursday, thought that there were some nice ideas with the alien forces, the walking gun platform, the tri cannoned anti grav/skiff and the drones, but the alien foot soldier design wasn't great, but worked at the pace that you saw them at.

Bit too much 'suck it up marine!' but good none the less.

The movie drags a little at the beginning, but it picks up quickly. It has a lot of the Tropes for scifi and war movies, but once the action starts, it keeps moving. There's a few twists and turns, but a lot of the significant scenes are pretty predictable. Good eye candy and definitely adaptable for the tabletop. I did like that the aliens weren't completely superior in their tech. They seemed to be as effective as our own weaponry, they just had a serious element of surprise in their favor.

Great popcorn movie. Reminds me of old Saturday afternoon war movies.

I'd like a heap of aliens in 28mm please.

Fair action movie indeed. Plenty of ideas for Sci-Fi/Near Future games too. I would go with 20mm though as it might be easier to field heavy equipment like tanks and choppers… Now, do someone know of a manufacturer of 20mm aliens?
