Don't forget Jim that reenactors are generally heavier than originals.

No, they couldn't, they would have been the first to get eaten.  ;)

@Ratnik, great work on the clothing and armor.
Great miniatures overall, actually.  :)

Well, I must obey to the allmighty and knowledgable then. Pity. I didnt mean to come out as rude or as a besserwisser. But I suppose that was your intention.

I apologise, I did not mean to cause offence or to mock you. In truth, I know nothing of these matters, I am just a poor clown who saw an opening for a cheap joke.  :(

No problem, I have cooled down my self now, and hence I hope that we can move on. Besides, it wasnt you that set me off, besides I think it was more of a language issue than anything else.

Galland, I have sent you a pm on this.

The 'Ooo, interesting' comment was meant as it was said, I find things like this interesting and would like to more from a different re-enactors perspective and certainly no offence or immaturity was intended whatsoever.

cheers

Heya James et al.

I must appologize, it came out a bit harsh, hence I have edited my last post and the one before that, so its less rude and agitated.

I will absolutely try to be more comprensive in the future. I would also love to discuss the matters. Especially since I have during very hot summer days marched with the helbard like that, both on our own accord, and along with the Swedish Royal Guard (Svea Livgarde). Our uniforms are made of wool, linnen and silk, and can be damn warm in full attire :S

By the way, whats even more embarresing, I start to see what you mean, about the pictures. Some of them look right, but some have a couple of rather bad angles, it sure would be hard to balance the weapon, they are top heavy like hell.

So the bills that you have are held at high port with the arm tucked in at the chest? (similar to the ACW way of carrying a rifle? ).

In the ECW,when standing we hold our bills at the advance, which is, arm straight down and the bill tight against the side of the body. When marching onto the field they are held resting on the shoulder at about 45 degrees with the bill head about a third of the way up from the shoulder.

If I can find one, I'll dig out a picture of one of our events and post it (if Ratnick doesn't mind  :) ).

I would be interested to know if there was a difference between the continent and England in this  :)

cheers
