The Battle at Wangau - 1813 (Black Powder Napoleonic)
« on: 04 April 2011, 12:04:19 PM »
Hi friends,
at ACTION 2011 (Rheindahlen/MG/Germany) we continued our little napoleonic campaign of the French-Westphalian troops against the Prussians in 1813 (see the older posts).

Prologue:
Spring 1813th - After the hard gained passage of the river called "Zille" near "Kleinmerkelsburg", the VII Army Corps marched under the command of Jerome Napoleon to the west. His most urgent task is to unite with the Army Corps, commanded by Marshal Ney to jointly propose the Prussian associations from the field and occupy Berlin ...

At first the charge on the old but massive church at Wangau by Westphalian line infantry.

After the taking of the church it will be come the HQ of Jerome, C-I-C of the Westphalian-French troops:

Now it is save to march the columns through and around the village of "Wangau":

Westphalians in "Wangau":

Behind the village, the Westphalian-French army must cross a unknown river.
This was only possible at two points. So the artillery was commanded to deploy and protect the crossing of the march columns.

The crossing at sunset:

ATTENTION! Formerly hidden Prussian troops opens the fire and stopping the crossing.

Heavy artillery fire and several attacks of the French cavalry push back the prussians and the crossing continues:

In the evening the prussian reserve troops reached the battlefield and the battle ended ... for THIS DAY ... (will be continued) :)

Once again a great report and truly fantastic images.

I am not sure, but didn't Dave (Grand Manner) build the new church tower master for your order?

This church tower is made by grandmanner. It is more or less the master of the church tower that will soon to be seen in the product list in the internet.
There are three different extensions for the churchtower top, so that you can give the church very easily a different look.
