Alien Beast of Burden
« on: April 09, 2011, 02:52:03 AM »
Here's a beast of burden I created.  It stands to the chest of a human.

The eyes and brain are on the stalk.  It's inspecting the ground in this shot.  The mouth and nose are on a retractable appendage below.  While grazing, the mouth stretches out and down, of course.

I have another one, juvenile almost ready to prime and paint.  I needed to do a bit more putty work on it when I got ready to prime.  No these are not pro quality, but they were a fun way to use up leftover putty.  They'll roam battlefields and headbutt or chase whomever they choose.  Or stampede through town and trample innocent soldiers.

A new war is about to start under alien suns.

It's a pretty cool little critter, but the biologist in me is suggesting I point out that really big oculars and head-butting are not good bed-fellows.

Lovely little guy otherwise. :)
Everything is better with lizardmen.

hahaahah.  Good point.

Originally, I was going to give them a single horn which curved down between the eyes which would allow them to scrape at the ground and unearth roots or grubs.  I thought I had already posted concept pics to my photobucket but they'll have to wait.

Here’s a shot of the two, female and juvenile. (The juve still needs final priming and paint.)

The guy with the gun is a Pig Iron System Trooper with a Hasslefree rhino head.  He’s part of a space pirate (or mercs) group made up of a variety of different races.

Are you going to make a few more? How big are the bull males?

Nice I like them, but 'head butting? I think if it did that it would damage the eyes?

Yeah, that's what Bako was saying.  Maybe they're just not very intelligent.  And the dimmer ones remove themselves from the gene pool?

Moody, I probably won't be making any more.  Often my more bizarre creations are just the bits of leftover putty.  When I get one done, the next thing is completely different.  I did the two because with the first people were saying they couldn't tell what it was.  I figured with two it would give a better perspective with combination.  I don't game much so I don't know what I'll do with them though.

All of those are valid points, they just remind me of the game "spore" so I found them entertaining.
