As a fellow NZ Wars painter (an hopefully one day gamer) I've got to say how impressed I am with your work.  You've got a clean and natural style that complements these exquisite figures beautifully.

I love the pa palisades, too.  The grey colour you chose in the end looks very convincing.  And you've done loopholes correctly at ground level.

I presume the 'Red Shed' is a tip of the hat to the modern-day New Zealand bargain store chain, 'The Warehouse' (known for its large red shed-like stores)?

I'm looking forward to that new release from Empress, too ... http://arteis.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/guess-whatll-be-in-empresss-forthcoming-nz-wars-release/

Thanks for the nice compliments.

@Roly
Yes, the 'Red Shed' is a humorous take on the general store building from the Perrys. I decided on a red painting because I neither wanted another white nor the blue shown  on the package. Then I remembered the nick name of the Warehouse and had a name for the shop.

Just caught up with this thread, and would like to add my congratulations on a very well turned out project!
Lovely stuff!
 :-*

I will be keeping a regular check back on this one as my forthcoming VSF project will involve a heavy NZ influence, so your scenery pictures will be particularly useful.
Thank you!
 :)

Beautiful work, I ahve tried once to game this period way back when Old Glory brought their range out however the miniatures were such hideous carbuncles that I gave up :?

These however are stunning and your paint work shows them off very nicely. :-*

I hope they do expand and would love to see the later wars miniatures with the Rangers etc

Tell us more, Mason - this sounds great.  A similar project had briefly crossed my mind too ... so would love to see what you had in mind.

Some news from the "Red Army"

Somewhere southside of Bombay... "What's the time, Mr. Wolfe?"

"Steady boys!"

Some eye candy but otherwise utterly useless for the NZW

Skirmishing in any position.:

And finally a conversion: The grizzled sergeant major:
