Interwar 28mm walkers (pics)
« on: May 31, 2011, 06:27:49 AM »
It's walking a thin line building walkers for this period...  Too many rivets and everyone calls "VSF!".  Too much techno and all call "40K!".

I've done my best to make some that'll fit the period (or WW2 for that matter) imho.  Most of the components are from Ramshackle Games (a treasure trove for scratchbuilders) with some plastic tube, beads (for joints), small slottabases for the "feet", Company B Lewis guns and tiny washers added.  I hope you like'm.  The commander is a Copplestone pilot, held into place with a magnet, so the vehicles can switch side.

Nice work! Not enough rivets for my taste ( lol ), although I obviously see your reasoning; still, in my opinion, the main difference between a VSF/ESF and Interwar/Dieselpunk walker would be a combustion engine and a camouflage paintjob, as opposed to steam and brass/navy grey/white schemes.

The first one is really great. The only issue I might have with all the designs is that the feet look a tad bit small. Obviously they are finished, but some "toes" like on the first one might improve it (they look a bit toppling-prone).

Oh, my, these are very cool. Rudi wrote me about them a little while ago but I didn't expect anything as cool as this. I like them all - I like the little cool details like the exhausts on the rear of the first and the anti-skid textured metal on front of the second. Ver ynice stuff Rudi!

Really great looking, I love the paint jobs. They look really clunky and heavy.
