Ah. Yeah, well, rounds 7 to 10 are top ten matched rounds so it is expected. I've been secretly dreading being paired with Frank since round 2 since he's been my over all favourite throughout this LPL. I was apparently right in fearing it.

Tough choice, but I ended up voting for the Cigars because of the extensive conversions and customization. Thematically, I have to say I prefer Shogun to TinTin (I eagerly waited for Shogun to be run on TV, before the days of VCR!) but I don't vote on something just because I prefer the subject matter. None-the-less, great work on both entries guys.

I have to do a shoutout to my pal Svenn who did the Ki-Oskh transfers for me. Peace, man. They are not quite bonafide as they are supposed to be yellow. Tricky colour to get right in transfers so we settled for a black on a painted yellow field instead.

Ouch, indeed an awesome match-up! Frank really seems to have the most awesome, grandest collection of scenery, and he uses it well. Hammers has the most awesome, grandest collection of ideas and uses it well as well. I didn't really recognise the tin-tin scene so I guess that cost Hammers another vote. Sorry, but I do love your entry!

Ouch, I've been fearing this...

I had the same feelings...  :)

...and actually this one was my round 10 contribution, before I found out about this TV restriction. :'(

The Anjin-San vignette evokes something right out of a movie. Brilliant!

There have been some tough match-ups in the league so far, but this is the toughest - brilliant work in both entries.

Both are outstanding, but I have to go with Frank's for the reasons of Stunning painting, idea and layout and Shogun is my favourite book of all time! Your best yet Frank and that's saying a lot! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Frank, are you digitally blending your bases into the scene (the way the Perrys do in their tutorial), imbedding the figures in loose basing material, or pinning them in place, or some other method? I'm curious about how you achieve the seamless look you are getting.

Yes, good question. I would also be interested how much digital voodoo is involved, if at all?

Hammers, just brilliant idea and execution. Could you tell a bit about those mummy conversions?

Both entries are smashing, and for me the hardest match of the entire LPL season 5.

I love the heads on the mummies. I was half expecting to see the man & dog in a sarcophagus with all those conversions.

The Shogun scene is just too good. From the detail on the figures to the scene itself.  Fantastic.

Meant to ask Frank
Who makes the Anjin-san/Richard Chamberlain figure?
