nice concept, but I'm assuming the GW plastics were massive... Mantic bits are pushing it a little...

True.  Though, oddly enough, the Wargames Factory Shocktrooper squid head I used on the leader was too small, and I had to pad out the back with some sculpted-on hair.
Back from the dead, almost.

it did get me thinking about other plastics out there and I wondered about the Immortal Greeks and the Gripping Beast Vikings... not very gnarly like the Dark Elves though...

Just passing by, a mule train and its guards ...

"Donkey Jack" Philipps generally prefers mules to men.

Ned Bunion and Abel Gorton generally prefer men to mules, but in Jack's case they'll make an exception.

More great stuff. But don't the mules have names and one-line bios too?  ;)  lol

How far are you along with this project now?

Cheers, oxiana.  Still lots to do: chiefly painting some regular soldiers, both foot and horse, and building the village itself.  And then there are all the odd little characters that keep popping into my head ...

Steve F,

Very nice project you have here.

Looks like a lot of fun.  :-*

I especially like the names and brief descriptions of the models.

I'm looking forward to seeing more.

From the neighbouring village.

The Rector of Scratchleigh Bottom is horrified that anyone should accuse him of papistry.

A novelty communion wafer of his own devising, perhaps?
