Moderns or future wars?  ???

Guess they could be classed as future wars if they happen to be battering zombies in a post apoc Britain.

Have to echo the sentiments of the others here - the black is done beautifully. Fantastic painting.

I'll add my voice to the chorus asking for a breakdown of how the black is painted - I always have problems with it!

Thanks for the comments all. Always nice to have an ego massage.

As for the paint recipe, I used three different colours of highlight on different areas to try and break up the monotony of all that black.

For the uniforms I used VGC Sombre Grey.

For the stab vests, equipment, shoes etc I used VGC Tan.

And I'm not sure it's noticeable but the weapons and shield used VGC Electric Blue.

Hope that helps.

That's a great idea - different tones to highlight the different areas of black. Excellent.

Lovely work... I'd mark two of these down as modern cos they're not in Hot Fuzz. One's based on the HF crews chum Neil so that's really, really old, means the other is futuristic. Chronology is a hobby of mine doncha know?  ::)

Yeah but Phillis old bean, the sandford force did end up in full riot gear. BTW those are two of the same 'Neil' figure, with the weapons/arms options that come with the figs.

Silly arse!

Lovely colour work.  I've been highlighting black with Prussian Blue but shall definitely be giving tan a go.
