Smog the Thirteenth Hour rules now online
« on: April 27, 2011, 07:53:53 PM »
Dear Lead Adventurers,

It's been two years now that I post here pics of our work on our Victorian Sci-fi Smog project.

50mm scale, resin... "Useless" is the word I've read the most, I think :) ... But Smart Max is stubborn !

Our VSF game "Smog, the Thirteenth Hour" is now on preorder and it was important for us to let you know since, after all, there are not many forums dedicated to our common interest for VSF gaming.

So here I am, one more time, to share with you a radical vision of what Victorian Sci-fi can be.

Hope you, especially you, will like it :)

SMax

That's a really superb model and beautifully painted. It's certainly not useless, but I've got to say it again "I wish it was in 28mm"  :'(

When I saw the sculpt of this one I said it would probably be the one to break my resolve and get me to purchase.  I have been very tempted by previous releases too but it comes down to finances and the fact that other than ornaments I have no use for larger models.

I do really fancy having a go at a lot of the range with my brushes as they are wonderful sculpts but unfortunately have to echo "if only they were 28mm" comments. If they were I would be very near, if not at, the front of the queue.

Super paint job too.

Sorry to join the chorus but 50mm is no good to me at all, I'm a wargamer with a growing collection of 28mm figures.  Perhaps they would be better received on a purely modelling site, they are excellent sculpts after all.

Is there a chance of that "shrimp" character being outside of his box? I'd love a standalone of him for my desk.

Oh, I like the figures a lot  :D
And I might see a use for them as alternative models for Inquisitor-scale games. The size should fit quite well...
Not sure if I'll get the game, although the background story is quite intriguing. But I hope I'll be able to buy some of the figures...

Like the rest of the minis in the line this new one is HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE & BEAUTIFULLY SCULPTED; having been out of the gaming loop other than solo for quite awhile, it's usefulness, if such a word can be use to describe a toy soldier, is of little or no importance to moi. As my eyes become weaker with age, the larger minis are becoming more attractive although somewhat beyond my means. My gaming career began in 54s; it would be appropriate to end there...that sounded a bit more morbid than I intended.

Cedric,
I marvelled at your stand at Salute 2 years ago and the figures were my fave on the day followed closely by Freebooter.I resisted at the time and still resist to this day waiting for the game to materialise which you are now promising soon.I hope for all your stunning work and skill that is a success but with figures priced on average at 27.50 euro only city bankers will be able to afford the game :( :'( :?
The very best of luck sir
ps...you sure you can't shrink them to 28mm in the oven ;)

Looks great, I look forward to see more models, but don't see myself buying into it at the moment.

Who knows, maybe it will be too tempting to resist, sometimes in the future  :)

But I am always happy to see beautiful painted models and especially great and imaginative sculpts like this.

I wish you the best luck with the game.

Wow!

You have really expanded that range!

I would like to try my skill at it at some point.

Lovely design of the rule book although it may be a bit heavy to print it out  lol

As I neither chase the dragon, nor Games Workshop armies, the costs definitely are stoppers to me. Still, REALLY impressive!

I was thinking the same thing, though my work printers are equal to the task, I suspect you won't need all as is; may I suggest you try 'saving as text' to see if you can have pity on your color cartridge? There are, what, maybe half a dozen pages where the color is useful for figuring things out.

My GF would call this all silly, of course; she'd just put it on her Nook.

Beautiful figures, but just too big- if they were 28mm, I'd definitely buy...
