Nosferatu 28mm miniature (sculpt FINISHED)
« on: May 10, 2011, 07:32:30 PM »
Hey guys my first post here :) I have been working on a miniature of Nosferatu (my favorite Vampire and the only true vampire IMO). He's 28mm tall and is sculpted out of green stuff and FIMO classic.

I'll upload more pictures later. Tell me guys what you think :)

An excellent way to introduce yourself, looking forward to seeing him progress further. ;D

Actually I have a question connected to this but for anyone else who uses FIMO to sculpt with: do you fire it at any stage?

I'm guessing you do, it's just that I've only considered using FIMO as a bulking-out material rather than fine detail, so the firing would be an early stage in that regard.

BTW, that's a nice Shreck, and I agree - he's the daddy of all the bloodsuckers!

I first want to thank all you guys for the positive feedback :)

Welcome aboard! Is this mini going to be cast up to be sold?

I don't know yet but there are is a chance i will cast it in resin. I definately would like to make several copies of this  ::)

I fire him quite often first i fired him when i got him bulked out then i seperately fired the head. Actually i fire him almost every time i feel i can mess up the previous stages it's like saving a game in case you die.

I did some more work on him. I added the eye brows and buttons. There is a little cleaning to do on him as you can see.

Could you guys suggest me on how i should pose the hands? What do you think of this pose?

Didn't he have vaguely pointed ears?

Yep and tufts of hair behind the ears I think.

I like the hand pose idea, it is the look I think you are after, it's a a very classic image from the film, go for it, can't wait to see how he progresses further. :)

I will add the hair bits later on and retouch the ears too if you think they don't fit. I fixed the nasty crack on his leg that you can see in the newest picture and brushed some alcohol on top to smooth in up.

The main thing on the arms position is to think about the casting process.
looking at the picture, if the arm is forward then the left leg should have been forward?
you could cast the left arm by it self.
A great caster helps  :-X
I need to get into making some model myself.

Am I the only one to be impressed by such great work on the body, then to be covered by clothes?  :o

I know you have to get the body right for the clothes to 'hang' properly, but to that detail? Woof!

Edit: By the by, stunning self-introduction; I'm in awe. Oh, yes, and abashed. Definitely in awe and abashed...

Looking good. He's getting there.
