Birthday Prezzies!

(from the makers of Taegukgi, which I liked, though I thought it lost it's way a bit towards the end before finishing well, still good, mind.)

Happy birthday, mate! Quite some loot you've got there. I enjoyed the Red Baron, save for Lena Headey who was quite miscast.

Happy birthday Dylan. I agree with Peder, some nice goodies there. The Admiral which I've is a good movie for the relevant parts.

Best wishes,

I am watching HBO's "Generation Kill", which i find a bit of bloody good, really. Not that I'd game it. A good mix between Marine gung-ho and  dissolution which feels authentic. I am modestly proud that one of the main protagonists, Sergeant Brad Colbert, is played by Swedish lad Alexander Skarsgard.

EDIT: having seen a little bit further into the series I should add that it is not for the weak of stomach. It is pretty gruesome in places.  :?

I saw this Canadian flick about Paaschendale on the shelf at a gas station but did buy it. Is it any good?

Naughty boy. Seems IMDB don't want you hotlinking their pictures.

Generation Kill is rather good, isn't it. An episode was on telly here last night. It is about the only thing I make a point of not missing at the moment.

One of our gaming group picked up Generation Kill on DVD a while back and it's still making the rounds at the moment.  :)

The streams of abuse from the Sergeant towards his "Whisky Tango" driver had us rolling about.

As a helpful bonus, the DVD box has a booklet of US Military terms and slang to help you translate what they're talking about.

If that's the Paul Gross one, then yes, apparently it is pretty decent. Made for TV, but a reasonable budget and such.

Passchendaele on Wikipedia.

Was made for TV? Apparently it was a regular theatre release as it open in 202 screens in Canada… but sadly not near where I live :-[
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Ah, you're right. Here I am linking to Wikipedia articles - perhaps I should actually, you know, read the whole article before I start typing, or something, as it does talk about the theatrical release in that very article...  ;D

I am having a lot of fun at the character portrayals, especial those two idiot platoon leaders 'Hitman' and 'Captain America'.
