High Treason, a fairly obscure SF movie from 1929.  It was one of the first British  sound films, but sadly only silent prints have survived.

Probably not suitable for LPL5 Round 10, which is a bit of a pity!

Pretty sure Artizan did one but buggered if I can find it!

Artizan did Harry Palmer, in one of the KKBB packs: same actor, but a bit young!

Wow Steve F! That film looks very interesting.... I'll have to see if I can find a copy over here in the colonies. Thanks for posting this info!

It's not been released officially, Captain.  I got mine off eBay UK, and its  a home copied thing with the title written on it in green felt tip.  The seller put up another copy as soon as I bought mine.

Shutter Island on DVD on Sunday bloody good film followed closely by The King's Speech, a little cinema outling for me and a few friends; very very good film, deserves all the praise it's receiving. Superb.

Lovely, Steve. A bit before its time, using German weaponry, Portuguese helmets and and tin can life support systems, just like Star Wars.

I've always enjoyed this one.

It's not much for inspirational wargaming. Just a fun movie.

Well, when I claim 'received' I've only seen it on the telly: Downton Abbey is just being aired in Sweden. Lovely stuff, although I am hoping that something more dramatic than a farmer with dropsy and a homosexual duke will eventually happen.

I usually can't stand this kind of thing, but I loved Downton Abbey. Couldn't tell you quite why, but it had a certain quality that made it unmissable telly for me. The upper crust lot are all made entirely out of Edwardian stiffness and the daughters are bitches (apart from the extremely cute youngest one), but the below-stairs mob are a great cast of heroes and villains. Maggie Smith is wonderful ("What is a weekend?"), but my favourite characters are Bates and Anna.

Spoiler: In 1914 there is a big war! Surely in the second series a bunch of them are bound to get killed in it.

Gots to agree with Plynkes there, costume dramas are not usually my cup of tea at all, but Downton Abbey had me hooked. Maggie Smith ought to get a special award for aceness. I loved the bit at the village fete where her rival says she won't take offence at something she's said, and she turns away muttering "Oh. I must have said it wrong..."  lol

Perfect storytelling where you care about the characters more than the events that surround them.

Anyway, this last week I have recieved and watched Shutter Island, which was good, if a little obvious. Nicely played though, and DiCaprio actually looks like a grown-up for a change.

And Watchmen, which is lovely to look at, but curiously uninvolving. A good adaptation, the change in the ending didn't upset me like it did some, with kudos for getting the images from the page onto the screen so effectively, but I found it oddly flat like I was watching cut scenes frm a video game in a lot of places.

"What is a weekend?"

That may very well be the telly quote of the year. Add Maggie Smiths subtle acting on top of that...

I wonder if they will add any trench warfare in the next season. Although it would ruin the show I am hoping that caddish footman will be gassed to an inch of his life.  >:D ;) (as you can see I am quite involved...)

The battle between the grand old dames is probably the most enjoyable bits since they are both flawed. Which brings me to my main objection with the series: the decent are a little to decent, the wicked a little to singularly so.
