Anyone seen this?

I haven't, is it any good? I saw Rare Exports last year which I really enjoyed, this looks like it may be in the same vein?

I've seen snippets. It's about a film team discovering that trolls do exist in northern Norway but are kept in reserves by a government agency. It's very low budget but quite funny.

Not received, just watched in the theatre, The King's Speech with Colin Firth, Helen Bonham Carter & Geoffery Rush. Good low key period movie, not a lot of wargaming potential, although I can see where the VBCW folks would find background material! Guy Pearce as the weak, villainous chap giving duty up for "the woman I love" is entertaining; naturally he has some of the best lines.

Best exchange, though, is during Firth & Rush's first meeting, proud and prickly Duke of York vs blunt Aussie speech therapist:
"Surely the mind of a Prince of the Realm is aware of what his mouth is doing?"
"You haven't... much experience of royalty, have you, Doctor?"

Get Low starring Robert Duval and Bill Murray. It is the story set in the depression-era southern US of a mysterious recluse who throws a large party for his own funeral. I didn't know what to expect going in and even over half way through the movie I wasn't sure where the story was going. It is just a very good story well told. The acting and costumes / sets were top-notch.

I understand that it took years to convince a studio to pick this up and I can understand why. Films built around a solid script seem pretty rare these days. It didn't have lots of big explosions or CGI either. Yet for all of that I was thoroughly entertained.

Can't stand Bill Murray.  An extremely overrated 'actor' as far as I'm concerned.  He was tolerable in Ghostbusters only because the rest of the cast was so good.  Picturing him with Sigourney Weaver makes me shudder!

I suspect you wouldn't care for Get Low then. A shame because it is a great film and he turns in a pretty good performance. Perhaps my favorite role of his after Razor's Edge.

I just watched a really good film on Netflix called “Carve her name with pride” The story of Violette Sazbo a British agent in WWII. The film made in 1958 (great year that) was not known to me and I am so glad a pick this little gem to watch. Well worth a look.

Soldiers and Saints

never heard of it but doing the weekly shop at Morrison's I noticed it at £3 so slipped it in the trolley while she wasn't looking  ;)

It is a small scale WW2 infantry film where a small handful of GI's escape capture from the Germans in the wintery Ardennes forest...they decide to get through to their own lines 20 miles or so away but with only 1 captured K98 and 4 rounds between them.

Not a bad film at all - small scale and much about the group interaction but there is a couple of good skirmishes in the snowy forest which are very well done

would make a nice senario for Nuts! or similar games

Saw 13 assassins on Monday. Lots of daft hats and swordplay. I thought it would inspire me to paint samurai but I'm afraid not. It seems more like a spaghetti western
