That looks like a pretty cool movie, when is it coming out?

I think you would agree if he had made mainstream films from the get go we never would of heard of him.

Sad to think he didn't get a crack at the mainstream much earlier then.

The local Wal-Mart had a sale on TV series on DVD. I’ve pick up these;

Fringe Seasons 2 and 3
Apocalypse; La 2ème Guerre Mondiale

"Pale Rider" - I'm on something of a Western kick recently. (And whenever I'm down, I just rewatch "Quigley Down Under", which is a great picture in its way.)

Not released yet, but a heads-up: the famous BBC MR James Christmas Ghost Stories are coming out on DVD!

Whistle and I'll Come to You is first, along with The Stalls of Barchester+A Warning to the Curious.  Amazon has them listed for release on Monday (20th August).  More will be released in September, and the box set will be in October.

Excellent!

I have been watching The Pillars of the Earth and while they are really piling on the misfortunes of our protagonists a bit too thick I find it a quite captivating series.

The first adaptation of Pillars of the Earth was in board game form. I tried to like the TV series, but couldn't get into it. The board game however, was lots of fun.

The live-action version (2010) of Space Battleship Yamato, the old anime series.

The acting doesn't so much chew the scenery as consume it whole, munching as it goes.

Loved it.

I loved it too. The acting does grate at times, as does the corny music and melodramatic ending, but it's still a wonderful transition from anime to live action.
