Hell reading the book would take me years. I am a slow reader.
But as for the movie itself, over the past month or so that it has been on Starz i have watched it probably 7 times and bits and pieces to count as a few more times. I like it for what it is/was made to be.

Just watched Tintin. It was MUCH better than I was led to believe and I really enjoyed it. The CGI was especially good too which I assume is because they used wingnut who are the CGI gurus of the 21st century.

If you like pulp then this is a must see.

True ! I grew up with the comics (Belgian, right) and was weary when they announced a movie, but I have to admit I enjoyed every moment of it.

I thought Captain Haddock was either too short or his head too big.

Does that mean 'birdseye' in Belgium talk?

Funnily enough, it means igloo.

How embarrasing I dont even know what language is spoken there.  ::) Then again I struggle with english.....

We have three official languages, so you could do the effort of knowing at least one.   ;)

I picked up A Man Called Horse from Tesco, the mane actor was Richard Harris.   A really good tail.  The boxed set was heavier as it had some shoes in.

So do kids get taught 3 languages at school? How the heck does that work?

Very few people speak a second language here unless its the language of their parents home country and the parents prefer to speak it at home. Even NZ is more multi lingual. They almost speak english and of course hobbit.

I'm afraid that's a question that can't be answered without going into politics  :?
Let's leave it at the fact that in the small germanic part you'll probably find most people able to speak 3 languages followed by Flanders and that you'll find that a lot inhabitants of Brussels and Wallonia only speak French (even if they know dutch or english)

Now, now, guys. No need to get your nickers in a twist.
It is a touchy subject in Belgium (and politics in a whole are forbidden in this forum), but to ask that the whole world is on the level with what's happening in our tiny land is too much.
How many nations are represented on LAF ? If we were to learn the exact political situation of all countries where a LAFfer lives, there hardly would be any time left for hobbyrelated posts ( or as is often the case with Bezzo, humouristic posts )

So, definitly no harm done.
Now, enough about that. Let's leave this thread for what it's intended : movies  :)
