Dust tactics scale compared to heroclix
« on: May 16, 2011, 01:33:17 AM »
Does anyone have any comparison shots with heroclix and dust tactic miniatures. Id really like to use them all in a WWW2 game

Unfortunately there is no consistent scale for Heroclix, they tend to vary wildly, with later figures being generally larger than earlier figures.

So i could probably go with either bolt action minis or dust tactics since neither will scale perfectly?

Clix tend to be all over the place as far as scale.  That said, the more recent sets are pretty big, even compared to old sets.  Do you have particular clix in mind that you wanted to use?

Actually i have tons of hero and horror clix. Im looking to get some weird war style infantry to go along with them. Dust tactics is just a good price for what you get so i was hoping they would scale well. I was also thinking of picking up SOTR rulebook and thought i would have starter armies by combining clix and dust.

Dust Tactics probably scales "Best" to some of the older versions of Cap, Namor, Baron Blood etc, that said I play with Bolt Action, and whist Union Jack is a head or so taller than my infantry, it kind of fits, he's a hero after all.

The new lines are almost 1/35 / 54mm so if you stick to the older lines you should be ok.  I picked up a couple civilian-esq clix and they tower over even the 32mm stuff I game with.

I dont really mind supers being alittle bigger. The only other minis i have to compare to are mantic and starship troopers. All the clix are alot bigger then mantic but are smaller then starship troopers.

Also how does supersystem work as far as a WWW2 skirmish game. It obviously covers heroes go but how about for infantry units and mechs? Should i have asked this in the wierd wars forum?

Building squads and vehicles in Super System is fine, but the game doesn't flow well once you introduce too many elements (at least, that's how I find it). Cap Bucky and the Howling Commandos versus Red Skull and some Waffen SS would play fine however.
