Make your own!

I wanted a 1/56th Sturmovik so I made it out of basswood flat stock from the hobby store.

Here is a quick view of the process:

Congratulations, colleague JOHNNYTODD!  :o

A good model and a radical solution to the problem finding the missing models.  ;)

Johnny,

Don't you have others you built using the same method? :-)

I bought one of these DFS 230a's but its still in the box. ::)

Or Fiddlers Green do one.

I'm about to do a couple of Horsa's from there which look quite detailed enough for gaming.

Great work Johnnytodd!

Rorio, if you decide to go the same route there is a template for a German glider in one of the Flames of War FJ army list books. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Rorio,

If you decide to scratchbuild one,  here is a good working plan of the DFS 230.  This will need to be sized to the scale of your choice (I used photoshop).   Print several copies.  Carefully cut out the fuselage, wings, rudder etc. and then glue to your wood boards.  At this point you need a coping saw or band saw.  Then file, sand shape and assemble your glider!

PM me if you want more instructions.
