Cold Wars 2012
« on: March 13, 2012, 08:12:16 PM »
Below is a blog post from one of my players at Cold Wars 2012.  He posts two pictures of my Fallout inspired game and there is also several other fun games as well.  The zombie game was beautiful. Enjoy.

Thanks for the photos and report.
Looks like outstanding games all a round.
Would love to play in any of them.

Nice blog.  I went to Cold Wars and completely missed the Fallout game!!  Was in in one of the myriad of rooms off the Distelfink?

I forget the name of the room.   It was in the room down the hall from the Business Center, where the Battletech players used to be.

Your Fallout tables are always very nice.
Do you have other pictures of games?

If I remember correctly, the other years you used MDRG.
This time you have added some vehicles.
What kind of rules you used this time?

Please, could you describe the rules for scenarios played?

How did you realize the road damage?

Sorry for the many questions, but I'm very inspired by your Fallout games.

Thanks

The Rock:

I don't have other pictures.  I never manage to bring a camera to my games.

The rules that were used were my own This is Not a Test, which were being playtested.  The game featured settlers and paid mercenaries escorting a water caravan across an old highway system.  The crux of the game was the caravan was a decoy, the lead truck had a hidden heavy machine gun, in order to claim bounties on a pair of wanted raiders. The trucks could move 6" or 9" if going all out, though the latter was not without risks.  I had some charts to determine fire effects when they are attacked.

The roads are simple roof shingles with cracked carved in.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the clarification.

I never thought about the roof shingles for use in modeling
