Senegalese - Forgotten and Glorious
« on: May 26, 2011, 10:50:27 PM »
Here's my first attempt at painting for quite a while (more years than I care to remember - or can remember even!). First go at using acrylics too.

The figures are by Forgotten and Glorious and are superb - hopefully my skills will improve (painting and photography  :() and I will do these figures justice (along with the lovely Gripping Beast range  :-*)

Very nice work you've done those figures proud.
Em dezembro de '81

Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Nice work. The Senegalese head with the Dizzy Gillespie soul patch was the perfect choice for your trumpeter.

Thanks for all your kind comments - I'm really enjoying painting again. Zinderneuf - I did pick the head with the goatee beard as I thought the bugler needed some character - Dizze Gillespie indeed  lol!

I wasn't too happy with these so I've done a bit more work on them - made them dusty, more highlights, more work on the bases - a small improvement I think.

Nice painting and nice looking figures too. I am fighting temptation since I became aware of this company and their figures.

tim1966,

These are beautifully painted figures;  I especially like your shading techniques.  Wonderful job!

Nice miniatures and paintjob, might I ask what colours you used for the uniform?

I used Vallejo piants - English uniform as a base and then Khaki for highlights wiht black and white added to each for grades of shade. Alos used Navy blue for some trousers. I wish I had pianted them all the original Dark Blue now - maybe try that with some others. Or maybe some Foriegn Legion and then I would need a mustard khaki. Thanks again for all the kind comments.
