Heading for the last stage of the game
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:21:55 PM »
Not sure if this is the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning -

This is a strange feeling - I am almost done with buying for my 25 mm armies projects!  Forever!  Lots of work left but I actually think I am almost done buying 25 mm figures.

25 mm forces:

Gothic Horror - ordered the work crew figures from Askari for the Treasure Hunters, Cossacks for the Romanian Vampires (Nosferatu team already complete.)  That's it!  With those I have all the figures I wanted!  Monster Hunters, check!  Two stylistically different bands of Were Wolves, check!.  Everything "just" needs assembling/painting.

Zorro - Pretty much (99.9% at least, maybe 100%) - I have everything on my figures list, I just need to avoid the "Oooh, Shiney" thing from Boot Hill Miniatures.  Must not look...

Supers - 100% complete, by (my) fiat!  I dread even counting the figures...  and all those extra heroclix to dispose of (easily a 100?)

Spanish VSF - Unless there is something I have missed, it's 100% done.  Magnetic basing still to be done...

Fantasy - Done, done, done for my dwarves.  Not planning any foes currently.  That's what other players are for...  Most of my scenarios will be differing styles (rabid traditionalists, mechanical engineers, "Green" Dwarves, Gunpowder (Heresy, I say!) users, One Worlders allied with the remnants of other races,  etc.,) of dwarves facing off with the each other.

"Old West" - 100% done

1650-1750 Spanish Colonials is where most of the work needs to be done.  Soldados are one order order away from completion.  It's the California Indians, appropriately armed Apaches, and Commanches (especially mounted) in general that are left  to be done.  Apaches can pass for Navaho, Ute, or Pueblo Indians in a pinch.  Mission Indians and allied tribes ditto.

After that I don't have any 25+ mm figures/armies/projects on my to do list.

Feels good to see the end of the tunnel but also so strange...

Other scales/other projects  to carry the load -

1/6000th ships - 99% done, maybe 100% - do I really need those Japanese transports...

1/600th aircraft -  75% plus done, need French WW1!

1/300th scale SF AFVs - Pending a burst of insanity I am actually 150% done - too many GRAV/Hover  vehicles for my taste.  Need to trade some off for more tracked/wheeled vehicles perhaps.  1:1 exchange at the least...

1/1200th Aeronef - Done for now.  Hopefully forever.

1/1200th Aquanef - not in production yet!  Grrr!  Wait, that's a good thing!

15 mm - someday maybe.  This would be selected historical Spanish armies.  And it's just a maybe...

Gracias,

Glenn
