Cthulhu sculpting comp. minis
« on: 14 June 2011, 08:35:33 PM »
Hey guys, thanks for looking :)

Not sold on the jacket, but it's my first attempt at that plaid/tweed carry on, so any suggestions on how to improve it would be much appreciated!

Next up;

I'll be replacing the base once an order arrives..

And the Cthulhu statue thingy;

Again, comments and help on the statue would be much appreciated, can't seem to get the texture right...

Nice painting.   :)

Try some highlights within the "squares" and highlight the lines.  Particularly where the lines intersect.

Some examples below.

They are "The Bogeymen" from Ral Partha (Europe.)  http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/

Not sure if they are on the new site yet, but a quick email if you can't find them.
Feel free to include this LINK in the email if it helps identification.   :)

They are great figures and very clean castings too.   :)

I really like your use of browns and more 'natural' colors.  That really works well.

I think your tweed effect is convincing, but I'd never turn down advice from Orctrader.

Good stuff!

I think the statue looks great! (My fav of the 3) It looks incredible alien in its make up while still flowing naturally with the rock, as if the two materials share an ancient ancestry.
