Modern British Vehicles
« on: June 27, 2011, 03:07:49 PM »
Afternoon All,

I was hoping someone would be able to help...I'm after WMiK, Snatch, Jackal, Ospreys etc. etc. 1/48 through to 1/60...

So far I've found Impact models (Look nice but not really what I'm after right now, dipping my metaphorical toe in the 'Moderns' water not sure I'm ready for Tanks)...

S&S look pretty good, but no pricing and I've heard bad things :o, like the Empress Quads but again after a pretty standard looking force rather than Special Forces...

Currently using Empress Moderns (which are LOVELY models) if that helps...as always huge thanks for any help you can offer.

Gost.

I have S&S snatch, Jackal and WMIKs, TAG Warrior and Imprint Challenger. I bought a separate Brooks crew for the Jackal to repalsce the figures you get with it (available from Old Glory UK now that Brooks has closed) but otherwise I was happy enough with the models. They were £8.00 each roughly. Infantry are TAG.

Many thanks.

What's the S&S service like as the models have come up wonderfully?

Gaming on a budget (aren't we all, Mrs Goat keeps an eye on the Mountains growth) so like to make sure something is a safe bet before placing an order...

Once again hearty cheers.

Goat.

I bought some 20mm vehicles from S&S and I'd say the service was good, you may have to wait a couple of weeks, and when the minis arrive you will have a bit of a job tidying them up but on the whole I was very pleased with my purchases, and once you've applied some paint I am more than certain they will look great.

I have yet to hear bad things about them though! So there you go.

I can vouch for S&S as well.
Very recently bought some of thier "out of production" models, and they got them cast and packaged and sent all within a few days..

Top guys...

Airfix have a 1/48 Snatch Landrover due out this year.

Don't forget to look at cheap diecast for Land Rover. And if you need some Warrior, try Battlefield Evolution (circa 1/64) on ebay.

(from my own collection, bottom IFV, 2 sand [painted by previous owner] and 3 green with aerial)
