Just bought a $20 Train set, repainted it and put the tracks on an embankment ($20 are around 12 Euro)
What do you think?

There are actually more parts and I scratch built the guns stuff.
it is a little too small but not really and fits ok with the 28mm minis

Man, that would be great for the Arab revolt. Everyone always coos about armoured trains, I'm more interested in ones like this.

Nice job. Sweet.  :)

Beautiful. I certainly need some state cars for my Commissars to travel in. Revolution can get so exhausting...

Hey, I just bought that very train just a month ago.  It's from the same company that's put out all the trains people already use, but this one definitely has a more 30's feel.  I would love to know you painting technique.  My drybrushed boltgun silver never looks that good.

Very impressive.
Love the embankment idea.

Dodge -
If it's the same train that has appeared in the Wild West threads a few times it's not a specific make it's one of those cheap sets that occasionally turns up at Toys R Us etc.

TYhere is one in Wilkinsons for £10 at the moment not sure if it is the same one. One of the carriages is a tanker?

Hi,

its probably really the Toys R Us Train. If someone needs one I can try our local store here in Germany and check if they still have one left. I bought one for one guy in this forum last year and he was very happy with his train. The postage to England was a bit expensive.  :(

Cheers

well it is drybrush boltgun silver...
Black undercoat, give it brown drybrush first and then a very light silver drybrush, gives it a nice and dirty rusty finish
If you want a really rusty part, I normally paint it silver and then give it a brown and yellow(!) wash. I found that the yellow does the trick, have look at really rusty metal. But I only use this for small parts.

...And yes it is the train set that was discussed here several times, it has indeed a tanker and more carriages. It was very easy to remove the tank and that is where built the gun platt form instead.
