Boma or African fort

Hi, here are some pictures of my newest terrainpiece in progress! This time I'm building a Boma or African fort, this building will be used in my fictional setting of Mbuij Mayi but can and will be probably used in many other settings. The building is build by using some old pieces that I was going to use for Roman outposts but the project was never finished 

The basic shape I used as base for the piece

Looking good. Two quick questions, how did you do the texture on the huts and 2, how do you get up onto the parapet?

Awesome work. I cannot wait to see it finished, and I third the question about the hut texture - I used to use textile antiseptic bandages, but those come in a bit expensive (and honestly, I felt a bit guilty using them).

1) Diameter of the piece? 30cm
2) Huts are made by using an old tape roll covered with glass fibre wall paper (But I don't know the price as I'm using left overs)
3) How do you get on the parapets? Well, I really don't know maybe I will add some removable ladders in this style: http://lovemyearth.blogspot.com/2007/02/african-ladder.html

Most fine sir! I like the texture of the huts, clever and simple (though potentially painful:O) and the stakes are garden marv, or didi you visit your local copse for some free hazel snippings?

The stakes were cut and shaped by hand! Very laboriousc

And why would the texture of the huts would be potentially painful?

I was thinking bout the wee glass filaments that always come off this material. I remember doing some fibreglass work a few years back and always being irritated by them darned filaments.

I have not experienced any problems working with this material, well maybe it wasn't glassfibre wallpaper I used? I will post a picture of the stuff in the futur maybe it is something else.

Drywall tape will do same, without the itchy glass
