I think if you paint them the right colors and add a few details here and there - and maybe take a few away here and there - they'll work just fine.  Remember that before 1948 India (which included the modern Pakistan and Bangladesh) had very substantial population of Moslems and those models fit with their architecture.  But, really, I think the way you paint them will make the biggest difference since they could work for all of North Africa, most of the Middle East, India, and a few of them for the American Southwest - but I'd paint each location a bit different.  And I can't say how to paint them for you because I don't know what part of India you are focusing on (not that I'd know anyway but the research is fairly easy on the internet, I'm sure)

By the way, if you find other and better options, I'd love to hear about them.

Magister Militum do buildings as well, but they look similar, come unpainted and cost a lot more.

As for a specific region, I was looking for a generic, that would look okay.

That looks like a decent buy at the price, especially post free, as there's a fair bit of resin there. I'd use them, adding a few awnings, civilians etc to individualise them a bit.

Thanks, my thought too.  £55 is cheap for 16 buildings and some walls.

Here are a couple of other sources:

Stone Mountain Miniatures (call, don't expect answers to emails)
http://www.historicalminiatures.com/terrain15.html

Musket Miniatures
http://www.musketminiatures.com/

These are both US companies I've dealt with over the years.
Also check out JR Miniatures and, of course, Hovels to see what they have.

And then there is Crescent Root if he ever starts producing again.  And if he does, damn, I hope I have some spare coin because these are some incredible buildings:

Thanks, they all still look very Arabic, though.  For the price I am still tempted by the EBay set.
