Primed, a few layers of gray paint. Added the secondary camo color. Was disappointed by the weak contrast. I was hoping for more.
Next step will be to add stone or very light gray outlines to the jagged shapes (like my other Crusader tractor).
I am trying to follow the rule "less is more" by adding fewer and less jagged camo patterns.
One thing I really like about Josh's design is that, despite being small enough to fit in the hand, the big, flat surfaces and the way the bolts are arranged and the tiny details such as the HSG all give an impression of immense size.
The grays I used also contribute to this effect (in my case, just dumb luck I picked the right paints for that). Hats off to Zombiesmith yet again for their artistic sophistication.
Any comments or criticisms on the painting thus far?
Especially regarding the engine compartment.
I tried making the main tank (fuel?) dull red and using bronze and silver metallics for the rest. The compartment is painted deneb stone which came out very dark for some reason. We'll see how it looks after some inking, washing, and highlighting.
Sorry about the bad photos - cell phone.
