Potholders for kids
« on: July 13, 2011, 12:06:37 PM »
Just a little thing I just came up with, as my girls (8 and 5) get more and more interested in sitting in at the table with a brush, and a pair of trainers of mine still bear the marks of one such session (Mishima Red):

By no means perfect, I would prefer round ones, but I don't have the proper tools for making that, and I wanted to try out the idea (my girls are going to help me splash paint on some old 40K 2nd Ed. plastic orks for use as 'Marauders' in a test of Mantics 'Warpath' game during this summer vacation - am frantically cleaning moldlines atm...).
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Interesting idea. I'm not sure those would help young Rocco unless they were solidly bolted to the table, but for most children I would think it would be a big help!

While smaller, I have been using the some of the plastic bases/holders that the WizKids Heroclix Capt. America figures were shipped in. They are just the right size to hold a Reaper Pro Paints pot real snug fit) and the new GW Citadel paint pots (slightly looser fit then the Reaper paint Pots, but still they are a semi snug fit). I am going to try and see if I can get some more to also use as small palettes for mixing and to hold bits that the paint is drying on (like the small pill bottles I made from a toothpick), that one side with some paint not on wont be a big deal.
