Paint colour matching
« on: July 17, 2011, 02:37:43 PM »
How would you go about matching the green used in the equipment seen in this picture.  Especially helpful if Citadel colours are used, heh.  Thanks a lot.

Has Foundry 3 colour system written all over it - colour of the green looks to possibly be British Denilson Green or Storm Green.

To match it with a series of pots from GW I would suggest looking at these colours on the foundry site and creating a swatch then comapring to the paints at GW.  I don't think the greens of GW are that good a match but would try a shade of Catachan with a mid of Camo and a highlight of Gretchin from looking at GW website - I'm sure they had some better greens in the past.

The foundry black consist of Balck and two shades of Charcoal grey - I tend jsut to use one shade on black as I can't picture the second highlight properly - To this effect I would probabklly use from GW Chaos black and Codex Grey.

If you haven't tried Foundry the paints are high quality and the three colours maker matching easy (although some shades are too close together)

Hope this helps

Thank you both very much.  I'm not familiar with the Foundry line.  I use mostly GW paint as I can buy it locally and avoid shipping charges.   I may make some exceptions to get this foundry green set however.

Thanks.
