Looking back at the photos, something was bugging me (apart from the level of modelling talent  ;)) - you've got to include a ship's wheel.

There, now that I've made such a vital contribution (regardless of the fact you haven't got to the 'fittings' stage yet), I shall take full credit for the final product  :D

Sorry but I was waiting on my brother to deliver one. Got it last night.
I intend to fit it behind the entrance to the lower deck/cabin.

for these details I also suggest some fittings - looking like this:
http://www.erfurt-antikhandel.de/fotos/01032_g1.jpg
(edit: meanwhile a dead link)

But there are often some very cheap ones for/on kids-diaries or other cheap-boxes. Made of metal/blank/iron-sheet or something.

But Your solution is very genius, too. I don't know how far You want to go with that, but maybe using some thinner wire could make some finer ornaments adding more royal to royal.

grest job so far! thanks for showing!

Thanks for the idea.
How heavy are those sort of door handles/locks. May make my ship topple over backwards :'(
I will store the idea for future builds though, cheers

I am quite happy with the way it looks at the moment as it is only just a wargaming piece and my 10 years old son will be in the vicinity on this ship. So I don't want to go to far.

I was asked for the sizes.

A scanned imaged of the pieces before the build started. Not great but may give you an idea.

The project has slowed down a lot because I have got to the really fiddily bit, the rigging and sails.
Finished now though. :D

Material from an old lamp shade.
Some dowel and cord with bits of wire and plastic card for the bits and pieces.

Got a ships wheel and the door way in front to finish

Great stuff Colin! :o :o Now just to paint it. ......and if you could just leave it in a harbour, un-attended, with the keys in the ignition. It would fit my pirates quite nicely! ;)

Colin, both you and your brother are on the list of talented people who I'll one day kidnap and chain to a radiator in my basement. I love your threads, envy your skills and hate your guts!  >:( That's the envy talking, btw...  ;)  I'm proud when I have slapped paint haphazardly on something ready made, ffs!  ::)

I love following your builds, gamer Mac! You have the expert ability to balance both model detail and model playability.  :)
